A Christian-rooted, non-discriminatory healthcare mission

Restoring hope, saving lives, one patient at a time.

Driven by Christian charity, the Great Naija Samaritans Initiative breaks down the financial barriers to healthcare for indigent and bedridden Nigerians — regardless of faith or tribe.

Our Story & Inspiration

Radical compassion, rooted in faith — offered to everyone.

The name “Samaritans” is deeply rooted in the timeless biblical narrative of the Good Samaritan — a symbol of radical compassion, kindness, and the willingness to step forward when others walk by.

While our foundation is firmly built upon these Christian values of unconditional love and charity, our mission is entirely humanitarian and non-discriminatory. We believe that pain has no religion and poverty has no tribe. Our medical aid, funding, and support systems are freely extended to every sick, needy, and vulnerable Nigerian in distress.

Core Objectives

Standing in the gap for the vulnerable.

Three concrete ways we move from prayer to direct action — every day, in wards and homes across Nigeria.

01

Medical Bill Relief

Settle Outstanding Bills

We step in to pay accumulated fees for indigent patients trapped in hospitals due to detentions or those being denied life-saving care because of financial lack.

02

Emergency Transport

Rescue the Bedridden

We arrange and fund the physical transportation and medical care of severely ill individuals trapped at home because they cannot afford a vehicle or initial hospital deposit.

03

Patient Advocacy

Dignity in Healthcare

We passionately advocate for the fair, ethical, and dignified medical treatment of less privileged Nigerians within the healthcare system.

Meet Our Founder

The visionary behind the mission.

For more than a decade, Rev. Fr Dr Godfrey Emeka Udeh, C.Ss.R., prayerfully nursed a profound dream: a society where no Nigerian would die or languish in pain simply because they were too poor to pay for medical care.

As a Redemptorist priest and the current Parish Priest of Saints Michael, Raphael, and Gabriel Catholic Church in Satellite Town, Lagos, Fr. Godfrey has witnessed firsthand the crushing weight of medical poverty. Moving from a prayerful vision to direct action, he founded the Great Naija Samaritans Initiative to serve as a reliable beacon of mercy and a sanctuary of hope for the forgotten sick.

“No one should die simply because they cannot pay. Mercy must be a verb.”
